A poster being sold at the Democratic National Convention calls Barack Obama “prophesy fulfilled,” Todd Starnes reported at Fox News on Tuesday.
The poster features the President praying with the headline: “Prophesy Fulfilled.”
Below that is a photo of an open Bible with “Barak” highlighted in several places.
“Barak is of Hebrew origin and its meaning is ‘flash of lightning,’” Starnes says the poster explains, “referencing a passage in the Old Testament book of Judges.”
According to the poster, “Hussein” means “good and handsome.”
“So you see, Barak was destined to be a good and handsome man that would rise like a flash of lightning to win victory in a battle against overwhelming odds,” the poster adds.
According to Starnes, the poster is being sold outside the security zones of the convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has not been sanctioned by the Democratic Party.
A search at Blue Letter Bible shows that the name “Barak” does appear in the book of Judges, and means “lightning” or “lightning flash.”
The site also explains that Barak was the “son of Abinoam of Kedesh who, incited by Deborah, a prophetess of Ephraim, delivered the Israelites from the yoke of Jabin by routing the Canaanites in the plain of Jezreel.”
A search for “Hussein” returned no results.
