Sarah Palin: Fox Canceled on Me | THE JEENYUS CORNER

Former GOP vice presidential candidate turned media star Sarah Palin said that all of her scheduled interviews on Fox News had been canceled for Wednesday evening, posting on her Facebook page that she was “disappointed” by the decision.

Ms. Palin, a regular commentator on Fox, said that she had been looking forward to highlighting Arizona Sen. John McCain’s “positive contributions” to the country in her appearances on the cable news channel.  Four years ago, Mr. McCain was the GOP presidential candidate and selected Ms. Palin to join him on the Republican ticket.

Mr. McCain is slated to speak later Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, where he is expected to deliver a fierce criticism of President Barack Obama’s foreign policy record. Also Wednesday night, Rep. Paul Ryan will be delivering the big speech of day and the biggest of his political career — accepting the Republican Party’s nomination to be its vice presidential candidate.

“Our plans changed based on the fact that the RNC condensed the schedule of speeches from four nights to three,” said Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming for Fox News. “We look forward to having Governor Palin back as soon as we can.”

Fox News is owned by News Corp., which also owns The Wall Street Journal.

In her post, Ms. Palin didn’t say why her appearances had been canceled, nor did she say how many interviews she had been scheduled to do on Fox.

The full Facebook message is here:

I’m sorry Fox cancelled all my scheduled interviews tonight because I sure wanted to take the opportunity on the air to highlight Senator John McCain’s positive contributions to America, to honor him, and to reflect on what a biased media unfairly put him through four years ago tonight. Granted, our honored and esteemed war hero has gone through much more than the liberal media can ever do to him in their efforts to harm this patriot. I look forward to hearing his words to his fellow Americans tonight more than any of the other convention speeches. God bless John McCain. Thank you for everything. And happy birthday, my friend.

  1. I’m shocked. It’s like Glenn Beck getting fired. Fox is about ratings and filling a right wing void in the media. Sarah Palin gets ratings, like it or not. I don’t know what Fox is trying to do here.

    • I’ll let you in on the real story… word is (and I’ve seen the official pdf file to confirm it) Palin was planning on urging delegates to nominate her (before the RNC moved the nominating vote up to tuesday) to put her into nomination, not necessarily to get nominated, but to help block a Romney nomination. She’s really against Romney.

      • Surprises me. At the beginning I thought she was just hokey and I disagreed with her policies. Now she could be part of the corrupt system, given she’s so close to a major news network. She’s embedded in that neocon wing of the GOP, so all this stuff about Romney not being good enough for Fox seems fishy to me. Now they love the guy.
