Mitt Romney ‘deliberately got booed by the NAACP to appeal to white racists’

The Romney campaign has been accused of deliberately getting the Republican presidential candidate booed by black people during his NAACP speech to attract votes ‘in certain racist precincts’, by MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell.

Romney was booed for 15 seconds at the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People conference in Houston on Wednesday when he stated he would ‘eliminate’ unnecessary programmes like the Obamacare health reform.

Democrats united in saying that Romney planned to get booed to appeal to his conservative base. But O’Donnell and his guests went a step further by saying that Romney was making a play for white racists.

  1. Someone is giving racists a little too much credit. I wouldn’t assume the racists we have would be watching the news. I don’t think I would assume that any of the racists he would be appealing to would even know what NAACP even stands for. If they did have that much education, then they wouldn’t tolerate a quote from Frederick Douglas. Here is a secret to appealing to smart racists (no matter how few exist): DO NOT QUOTE INTELLIGENT BLACK AMERICANS!

And…. Why would he waste time appealing to racists of any color? If they are racists, they are not going to vote for Obama anyway.

It’s not that hard to believe that he may have done this because ALL presidential hopefuls are invited to speak there. Maybe he believes he can gain a larger percentage of the black vote by talking to black Americans. And he spoke to them he didn’t pander. It’s not always about racism.

    • I agree that people give racists too much credit. I’d like to point out that we just posted this article, we don’t necessarily agree with it, and we certainly didn’t write it. Our goal is to highlight news stories we feel are relevant… (this does NOT include celebrity gossip, or hollywood weddings. lol). We do appreciate the comments, and we encourage any discussion of any topic posted on the site. Like JFK, we welcome voices of criticism and dissent. We try to be a voice of it too! Thanks for reading.
