Texas congressman and 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul plans on holding a major rally for his supporters prior to the Republican national convention in August, according to an announcement posted to his presidential campaign website.
The Ron Paul campaign signed a contract on Thursday to secure the University of South Florida’s 11,000-seat Sun Dome for Sunday August 26th, the day prior to the beginning of the three-day Republican national convention, where presumptive Republican nominee is expected to accept the party’s nomination.
“The Republican National Convention is just around the corner, and the establishment is about to find out what you and I have known all along this election season – the future is ours!” Mr. Paul wrote supporters in an email sent out on Friday. “So on Aug. 26, the day before the convention convenes, I hope you’ll join me at a special rally to celebrate how far our message and movement have come this year.”

Gary Johnson is not on the ballot in Michigan, pending a lawsuit. The secretary of state, Ruth Johnson, claims that Gary Johnson’s withdraw request to be removed from the February republican primary ballot was received 3 minutes too late. As such his name did appear on Michigan’s primary ballot in February even though he had already dropped out of the republican race at that time, and Ruth Johnson is now claiming that any name which appeared on a party’s primary ballot may not be on the general election ballot in November from any differing party. So, lawsuit…
However, Gary E Johnson, a guy from Texas, is on Michigan’s ballot for those who really, really want to vote for a Gary Johnson. They are not the same Gary.
Maybe the coup will be Governor Gary Johnson’s appearance at the Paul Festival. I’m a Ron Paul supporter but he won’t be on the ballot in November. I think it’s a smart move for the Paul Festival organizers to have Gary Johnson speak because Johnson is on the ballot in all 50 states and his positions are identical to Ron Paul’s. The more people know about Gary Johnson, the more they will love him. He will carry the Ron Paul Revolution forward.
I left your opinion about Gov. Johnson, but you’re mistaken to say that Dr. Paul won’t be on the ballot… and if you’ve given up on making that happen, it’s your choice. But I removed the link to the GJ Campaign site b/c this is MY website and I have NOT given up.
